Our Rams

"Hellebore"

Hellebore joined our farm in 2023 from Lauden Acres in PA. He was carefully selected to complement the structure of our ewes while increasing overall size. At 10 months, Hellebore weighed just under 190lbs.

Hellebore’s offspring are generally white with brown or a varying shade of brown. His lambs grow quickly and we are keeping many of his ewe lambs as replacements.

"Americano"

Americano joined our farm in 2021 after a careful search for an unrelated sire to permit multiple breeding groups for our ewe lambs. He is from Round House Farm in Speedwell, TN. Americano was selected for his height and correctness and has added these characteristics to his offspring.

Americano also has a great hair coat and his offspring have a variety of coloration. He has a good temperament and is respectful when interacting with people.

"Frappé"

Frappé was selected for his width, weight, and overall stature. Frappé is a full brother to Macchiato, and continued to outgrow Macchiato through the first year. He has added noticeable thickness to our flock and his descendants do well on pasture.

Frappé’s lambs show good growth, on milk and creep feed, with some lambs averaging over 1 pound of daily gain.

"Macchiato"

Macchiato was selected for his width and ability to maintain weight on pasture as an “easy keeper”. Macchiato was born on our farm and his offspring had a variety of coloration.

Macchiato has retired from his siring duties at Sonlight Ridge Farm.

"Otis"

Otis was selected for his long and tall structure. We purchased Otis from Rybridi Farm in Chuckey, TN. He weighed over 230 pounds, had a good hair coat, and was proportionately muscled. Otis had a great temperament as well adding to his attributes.

We used Otis for one breeding season and replaced him with Macchiato to prevent in-breeding. His ewe lambs have produced some of our nicest ram lambs with fast growth rates.

"Felix"

Felix was selected for his ability to add muscle and depth. He was a fall ram from Buckeye Acres born and raised on the farm. Felix is very structurally correct and added weight gain, depth, and muscle capacity to the frame.

Felix has retired from his siring duties at Sonlight Ridge Farm.
